Hi Swordfish,

I'll back up a little bit. Part of my problem was that many things on the site just stopped working with the last set of updates. We're starting to market this site, so I needed to make it more functional.

One of those problems was that the forums had stopped working. You could see all the topics, but you couldn't open anything.

So, I simply turned off all the plugins and started opening them one at a time in order to check to see if there were issues.

One of the first things I noticed was that the forums do not show up for me when I'm logged in as admin. I just saw the top. However, it looks like it's because I'm using Buddy Press. I just turned on the BP plugin and now the forum seems to be working fine.

Make sense?

Thanks!

not really... ;)

buddypress and simple press have no interaction unless you have the simple press buddypress plugin active... without it, they are unaware of each other...

latest updates of what?  wp? sp?  bp?

none the less, happy if things are back to functional for you...

lol - I gave up expecting anything logical to work out on this site a long time ago.

I do have the SP BP plugin active. So would it make sense now?

Yes, latest updates... everything. It had fallen far behind.

The site's still a wreck. But SP seems to be working splendidly.

The combination of SP and the SP BuddyPress plugin without the main BuddyPress active shouldn't stop things from working. But it is, perhaps, a possibility if there were version conflicts as quite often we will need to update SP core OR a plugin like BP to support changes in WordPress itself. Keeping up to date with everything is largely recommended of course.

The good news is you seem to have your SP back!
