is there a way to implement a simple delete button, just like the way you can do it with the edit one:

sp_PostIndexEdit('tagClass=editbutton', __sp('edit'));

i want to avoid handling the admin toolset

thanks

I can certainly open a ticket to get one added at some point. Odd - never been asked for that before but I can sort of see some sense to it.

I would also love a delete button (as well as an "edit" option in the admin postbag but that's another issue).

What would be even better than a simple delete button is a checkbox.. that allows you to check a bunch of posts to delete all at once instead of one at a time. It's rare that deleting a bunch of posts is necessary but it does happen from time to time and manually deleting 20 posts one at a time and waiting for a page refresh between each one is painful.

The delete button on each post has been done for V5.1

But this has nothing to do with the 'Admin Postbag'. This already has a delete option and always has. And while it is a button and one for each post they are deleted with Ajax calls and disappear virtually instantly - there is no page reload.

The postbag comment was only in relation to wanting an EDIT button there 🙂

The delete button comments were in relation to moderating actual threads not via the admin postbag

an edit button in the postbag...  not sure I would see using it very often if ever.. and first time requested, but I can add it to our list...

a checkbox on posts in admin postbag or the topic itself would be quite messy and ugly...  you can delete multiple topics/posts using the prune database plugin which operates similarly to what you requested...

Except the prune option would delete ALL posts, not just specific ones

Sometimes someone posts something that's against our rules and if a bunch of people respond to/quote that post then I delete the responses as well as the original post. So I only want to select certain posts to delete, not all posts.

ah, you right, my bad... the prune db plugin is for topics not posts...

I dont see us putting that kind of UI into the front end...  maybe a plugin for the backend some day...  but until that day, the admin bar allows you to delete posts individually too
