Support Forum
I use a plug in on my wp page .html adder that adds .html to the end of my page urls. I initially set it up this way because I needed to keep my urls the same when transferring my page over from a static site to wordpress. Now I am attempting to set up the forum but it seems to be a conflict because the url's generated by simple press have .html/ followed by whatever the slug is. I cannot figure out if there is a way to change this so I can still use simple press or if I will need to deactivate the plug in.
For example if you go to my site the forum looks fine but if you click on the Forum Guidelines you will get an error because I cannot create a page with a url that ends in .html/forum-guidelines

I hope this makes sense. Thanks for any help that can be offered
My apologies for taking so long to respond. It is a public holiday here today and I have been out for a very long day with family.
Could you please take a look at this thread:

Post 32 is the one with the suggested code change but this does go back to 2006. But - in case it is the same situation then it would be worth a try to se if this rectifies things. Update ALL permalinks after the code change (WP and SP). And if this fixes the problem I can then go on to track down the filter we mentioned as it was almost certainly put in but the user didn't come back to ask about it.

hey MsLala,
The WordPress editor only lets you access top level folders, for example it will show files inside sp-startup, but no deeper than that.
You would need to access the sub folders through an FTP client, then you can either edit the file within some clients, or as it's a lot easier to do locally on a proper editor - you can download, edit and re-upload.
