Thanks for the reply Mr Papa,
I was reminded that this intermittent issue existed before we installed the redirection plugin. I suppose that puts us back to square one on this.
We will soon have a clone site in place to test on and properly troubleshoot--as we would rather not break the soon-to-be original one for our users.

Well I was only going to move on from the redirection discussion to the 'members access' plugin and ask you about that and how it works and if there might be something in there that is the root cause.

Member Access was a tool we needed when we had a public landing page. Now that logging in is required to load any page on our site, we have removed the Member Access plugin all together. We speculate that PilotPress is part of, if not full-on, the root of our problem. Turning it off will shut out our members as it integrates so deeply with WP :/

Not sure why it should be. But there again I have not encountered it before.
Is this something you will be able to remove on your test site when it is up? For testing if this is having any effect?
