Support Forum
I installed SP v5, and I have a notification in Integration-Storage Locations that the custom icons directory was not found, and that it should be in plugins/simple-forum/styles/icons/default/custom.
The thing is, the directory name of my Simple:Press install is showing as simple-press, not simple-forum, and I don't have any of those other directories (above in bold) in the install. Was I supposed to rename the directory to simple-forum and then create each of those directories?
I'm trying to work out the problem of not being able to delete posts, and not being able to find the tool sets.
I thought maybe it's because I have to install some plugins, but now I'm stuck because of the name of the primary directory (simple-press) and the absence of the other directories, and I still can't figure out how to delete posts (I have some test posts that I need to get rid of).
Thanks
We were unable to move the custom-icons folder. if you need to use it then just create it wherever (under /sp-resoures by default) and update the storage location.
So - if you hover the mouse cursor over a topic or post row do you not get the toolbox icon appear over on the left?

Unfortunately, I don't. This is a link to the dummy post. I'm testing out a new theme with the plugin, and it seems to not be displaying the toolbox icon on hover, although the quote buttons and other functions seem to be working ok.

Those are links to images from an old Simple:Press installation, but I deleted that installation over ten months ago. It seems like there are still files hanging around somewhere.
It's probably a good idea for me to do a fresh installation of SP, and update my theme, but how do I make sure all of the old Simple:Press files get removed?
not sure what you want to do?? uninstall? which would lose all your data...
none of those links look like they are simple press... unless you moved data to files... if so even then it means you have something still pointing to it...
and the real cause of the problem is not those errors, but the js problems...

Those links pointed to test images I had on the old Simple:Press installation last year, but I think I need to do some "sweeping" of my installation and some other housekeeping as well in my filezilla files.
I'll just uninstall and install SP again, and will update my theme as well. The info that is posted on there now is just a dummy post I use when I first install Simple:Press to test it.
Thanks to you and swordfish for the help.
okay, let us know how it goes...

I also wanted to let you know that your server is taking a long time to respond. I submitted the comment some time ago--about five minutes ago--and it wouldn't go through, so I tried to submit again.
Also: Some forum capabilites are lost in Internet Explorer (current version). I didn't see any quotes code so my reply posted wrong (I use various browsers when I'm working on my sites--I know IE kinda sucks though). Just wanted to let you know about those two little hiccups I just experienced.

Well:
I uninstalled Simple:Press v5 and reinstalled it. But before I reinstalled it, I cleaned out the remaining old files that were left over from the old install, and updated my theme. Now the forum works beautifully-- at least I haven't noticed any problems with it. I can even see the tool box when I hover over the title, and I can delete posts now! I'm so thrilled, I could dance (and I would dance if it wasn't so late and I wasn't so tired ). Thanks again!
