Hiya,

I found the global disabling of the RSS feeds, but want to do it on a per forum basis.

I don't understand where to find this:
"please visit the manage forums admin panel - edit the forum and set the RSS feed status there"
I can enter a replacement URL, but want no URL and RSS icon at all at some forums.

What am I missing here?

If you go to the forum edit admin panel (i.e., individual forum) then there is a checkbox labelled 'Disable forum RSS feed so feed will not be generated'.
