I was wondering if forum posts and topics are treated like regular wordpress posts and ping to my ping list?
I am curious if the SEO on Simple Press would be stronger than a regular forum software because Google sees it as a wordpress post (and there has been some talk that wordpress sites tend to do better SEO-wise). My site is new and already generating traffic which is nice.

No - it wont use the ping list but it WILL be recognised as a WordPress page.

is there still value today to pinging? thought that had lost all weight... but we can give you a hook to use if you want to ping sites with a new post if you know how to ping... not sure what is involved...

Maybe this would be a good plugin to add? Forum Pinger. Make your forum use your ping list when new Topics are first created.

might be more overhead in plugin than needed... could be couple lines in your spFunctions.php file... just not sure what is involved in doing a 'ping'... but will make note of it...

Ok sounds good. Might be a nice feature to add to the code as an option setting.
