Hi all, I'm a new (and very happy) user and I have a quick question:

Once I install Simple Press, do the updates show up automatically in the WP Dashboard?

If not, how do I find out about them? And do I have to install them manually?

Let me know...thanks a million!

yes, they do...

all of them will show up if you visit the wp updates page in your admin...

simple press core will show up in the counts too...  but you will need wp 3.5 for our plugins and theme updates to show in the counts (admin bar and the number after the updates link) since it required a wp core change which they finally implemented in 3.5... but again, they will always show on the updates page itself...

you can also see any sp plugins or themes on the sp admin panels for plugins and themes...

bottom line, with wp 3.5, you will get the same notice or more for sp and any of its plugins and themes as any other wp plugin or theme...

Thanks Mr. Papa. I am running 3.5 and I just saw that the recent SP update show up automatically.

I've been starting to wrap my head around SP. You guys have a great product here.

Is there a plugin to tweak the look of the forum itself? Would like to play with the skin / colors / buttons etc, to make the forum look more aquatic if that makes sense.

Also, at the top of this page you guys have the path set up nicely...its east-west and not hierarchal. Where is the option so I can match it on my site?

Thanks!

there are no plugins per se for appearance... but you can customize your sp theme any way you like...

which theme are you using?  we have forum default, stacked, iforum and css only...  all but css only offer multiple overlays for different color schemes...

before making any sp theme changes, please make your own... see:  http://codex.simple-press.com/.....g-a-theme/

also, if interested, see our sidebar as we do offer a custom sp theme creation service...
