Hmm. Okay. So there is a way for me to simply switch between default theme and our current design without losing any design elements?

for 99% of the themes, you can do that... but a poorly coded theme might have a problem...  but frankly, I do it all the time and so do other users troubleshooting problems...  certainly theme options and configurations are safe , but how wdigets are coded would be the only concern...  you could also take a db backup if worried about it before the switch - then you can certainly get back... but again, 99% safe... ;)

Okay, I was able to open up the site in Firefox--the Add a Comment button still does not work so it is not a browser issue. I spoke to my Wordpress developers and they were somewhat reluctant to try going back to a default theme as a diagnostic move. Is there any other way to diagnose the issue? thanks again.

well, need to narrow down the conflict...

you could try disabling all your other plugins too... and see if any impact...

also, I dont see a link to your site in thread?  can you give us one to look for obvious conflicts along lines of:  http://codex.simple-press.com/.....-conflict/

Are you talking about doing what the following instructions indicate? If so do you want me to copy and paste into a reply?

"How can I tell where my jQuery libraries are being sourced from?

Open up your website and load a page. A Simple:Press page is a good test. Somewhere in your browser menus will be a command to ‘View Source’. Load the source code. This is the HTML and script that is generated on your server and is the code behind the page you have just loaded.

Using the search function – which may be different all in all browsers – search for ‘jquery’ or just for ‘.js’. Then examine each entry.

If it is being loaded from WordPress the main library will have the file name of ‘jquery.js?ver=X.X.X‘ where the X’s refer to the version. For example – WordPress version 3.3.1 loads up ‘jquery.js?ver=1.7.1‘ for the main library and ‘jquery.ui.core.min.js?ver=1.8.16‘ for the UI library. "

If not, let me know what you need me to do. Happy to supply you with whatever you need.

was just meant as a guide you can check for...   to know whether proper wp versions are being loaded or external...

again, a link to your site and we could check for obvious ones...

Happy to get you into my site. Since it is in Preview Mode (not published to the web yet) I would need to provide you with the link and the password, and I could also make you a temporary administrator. Is that what you need?

oh, that preview thing - coming back now... I really dont know what that is... its not a standard wp thing...

but happy to take a look...  at this point, to look for obvious conflicts, just need access to the site - not really wp admin status... just want to look at page source and loaded js..

Super. Okay, the link to get into the site is this:

http://www.barnowlbox.com.prev.....m/wp-admin

Occasionally we have issues logging in. If your browser indicates it cannot find it, go up into the url window and backspace until the above link is remaining. Let me know how this works, and thanks very much.
