Support Forum
Hi there,
My forum (http://tiny.cc/nwq5hw) is down after a recovery of website and database. Im getting this message when trying to upgrade simple:press:
Downgrade Warning
It appears you are attempting to downgrade your Simple:Press Version. The Build or Version number in the sp-control.php file is lower than the currently installed version in the database.
You must restore your database to this earlier version before you can continue. You cannot simply downgrade Simple:Press files as the database has been upgraded beyond the version you are attempting to downgrade to and may cause irreparable damage to the database.
I dont know where to begin to restore the forum and kindly ask for a little help.
Kind regards,
Jesper
Simply put it means what it says. That the Simple:Press version contained in the database is newer than the actual software version you have installed.
This, I take it, is as a result of a restore of a database backup that is newer than the restore of your site software backup. Simple:Press can't be upgraded under these conditions as the database (where any upgrade tasks take place) has already been upgraded.
Your best course of action is to download the most recent Simple:Press and then use ftp to overwrite the version installed on your server. You really ought to do this for any SP plugins and themes you are using as well. Otherwise there may be a discrepancy between what the code and database expect.

I succeded in replacing with the newest version but now I am getting this error as shown here: http://tiny.cc/axt5hw
After uploading the new version it showed the forum without asking me to upgrade. Now I am getting this
Warning: preg_replace_callback() [function.preg-replace-callback]: Empty regular expression in /problem-with-post-edit-buttonome/soelvinv/public_html/wp-content/plugins/simple-press/sp-api/sp-api-filters.php on line 1044
Whoops! Sorry about that. This is a little bug I left in the code I am afraid.
If you could go to your WP admin > Settings > Writing and turn ON the option to convert emoticons (In formatting section at top) then this error will go away. The next update - which will be soon - will correct that and you can turn the option off again if you would rather have it off.
Again- apologies.
