Is it possible to edit a post in moderation before approval?

If you have the appropriate post editing permission then it should be. Are you seeing a problem?

The buttons I am seeing are:

Mark All Posts Approved and go to Topic, Mark All Post Approved and Close, Mark All Posts Approved and Quick Reply, and Delete Post

So either I am misinterpreting what the actual function of the buttons are, or I don't have my permissions set correctly.

Ah - there are no post editing facilities in the admin bar itself. Posts are edited within the topic view - i.e., load the topic and edit the post from there.

To Clarify:

Go to topic, Use forum toolset, edit, and than approve?

Is there an easy way to go to topic from the admin bar?

You shouldn't need to use the tools popup actually - there should be an edit button above the post itself.

If the topic is in the admins postbag - i.e., listed in the admin bar posts, then just click on the topic name and it will load it. This does NOT approve it or mark it as read but will load the topic and post.

For posts in moderation I am not seeing an Edit button, only Delete.

Yes, the toolset when you open it has all the options you need.

Having access to the Edit button above the post would be very helpful

Any admin or users that can delete a post will see it...  if you are not, I would check your sp theme template file for spTopicView.php and make sure the template function is in there...
