Just want to make sure we're on the same page. The pic below is the behavior I am seeing (link). Posts that are through moderation have delete, edit and quote buttons, for posts in moderation there is only the delete button. I have no idea how to fix this. I am seeing this while logged in as Admin.

Well that explains it then... sorry, if mentioned earlier, I missed the part about it being in moderation... That is by design so not really a fix per se... yeah semantics... and never asked for before...
but we can certainly consider allowing the edit button on posts in moderation... it will also be there for the user who posted then too if they have permission... might be bit harder to only do for admins or mods...
but will open a ticket for us to look into this enhancement...

Thanks for looking into adding this.
Also, I have no idea if this is possible - could an option be put into the Admin bar? So for items in moderation after you click view, Along with (Mark This Post Approved and go to Topic, Mark This Post Approved and Close, Mark This Post Approved and Quick Reply, and Delete Post) add a 5th option "Go to post to edit".

we have already made the change in trunk... so it will be in 5.1.2 where you can edit the post while in moderation...
