Support Forum
I've recently installed Simple:Press and I'm still testing it - everything works fine except email notifications.
E.g. when a member XYZ subscribes to notifications (Profile - Subscriptions - Auto subscribe to topics I post in/Auto subscribe to topics I start), and someone else posts an answer in the topic member XYZ has started, this member XYZ does not receive email notifications about these new posts.
What to do here?
The answer depends a little on whether this is the only type of email not being received or if this applies to all email types - such as new user notification, admin post notifications, PM message notifications etc.
If all emails then the first thing to check are that the values set up in the forum admin > Options > Emails are correct. If all looks good then the other possibility is that you have just fallen foul of the notorious email problem that many WordPress installations have. We have generally found that the answer to this is to install a small WP plugin called 'HGK SMTP' which generally seems to solve it. We actually use that on this site for this same reason!

It seems email notifications are being sent now - not sure what I have changed, but they do work.
However, I have another problem with email notifications now: in Options - Email Settings - Email Address Settings I have set The senders name to my name, however when the notification is sent, it still says from "WordPress".
How to change that?
same answer really.. that is the default email that any WordPress installation will send emails from... its how WP works... Our email settings only affect emails from SP... an smtp plugin as Andy alluded too will allow you to change it for any email from WP..
