yeah, the code above is what facebook gives for embedding, I've tried every possible method to get it to embed and no luck 🙁

Thanks anyway.. This is what I found last time I looked in to it, lot of complaints around the web about how restrictive it is, but then I guess Facebook isn't intended to be used as a video hosting service and it looks like they try very hard to preserve that!

thats not embedding really... its simply adding javascript to execute code to display the video...
I wouldnt recommend letting javascript be posted in your forum posts, but you could modify the allowed html tags via our api and a hook to allow javascript... but this would potentially allow folks to do all sorts of things...
you could add a bunch of logic to ensure just you, admins or whatever logic you wanted to limit who could do javascript...
