Hi
I am trying to embed an MP4 file into a forum reply however im not having much luck, if i use the insert embedded media and choose html5 the video does not display
any ideas?

guess I am not sure what you are trying to do... if you want to embed mp4, the two standard ways of doing it are via direct url and let wp oembed handle it... or if not an oembed option, then use our file uploader plugin, the media component which lets you embed media files based on what you allow...

i tried just adding the url, but only the url displays... the file is hosted locally on the same site, is there anything else i need to do to get oembed to work?

so yeah, if local file, oembed wont work since its kind of like a service...
so then have you tried our file uploader plugin? it will let you upload and embed local media files such as mp4...

yes i tried the uploader but it does not seem to work with the html5 video option, all that displays is the player toolbar, and nothing else... it uploads as quicktime, but i dont want that as its not so instantly compatible with everyones browser
i installed jwplayer http://www.longtailvideo.com/jw-player/ which seems to work quite well, so maybe ill stick with that
