Here's how I think this might work. The course is essentially a WordPress page. Since I'm using the Blog Post Linking plugin, I can just assign a particular forum to the page?
Problem is I don't want everyone with the "member" user type to be able to see it thus the idea that I could embed just that one forum within the Course Page. I only want them to see it if I have enabled it within Optimizemember as a usertype and package combination. I'm limited to 10 to user types or roles; but unlimited packages.
I have three user types: Basic (Free) - access to one Forum, two boards only, but with view topics for all other boards. Member (ala carte) - they have purchased one or many courses. Subscriber (all access) - they have access to all courses, downloadable materials and courses.
Hey Lea-Ann,
Unfortunately as we said in the pre membership queries board you can't display a topic on a different page.
As you are using the blog post linking plugin, it links posts / blog posts not forums / blog posts. One method that comes to mind might be to have a members only forum and within that sub forums for each course with one topic in each. You could stop the creation of new topics within the sub forums with permissions. Each topic could then be linked with the blog post to enable discussion both within the forum and from the courses page.
How does that sound?
