what is forum1???  it cant be an actual forum - you dont register or get assigned to those... is that a wishlist level??  keep in mind we dont know anything about wishlist levels... we know about wp roles and sp usergroups...

so access to a forum is given by assigning a usergroup and permission set to a forum...  you assign users to a usergroup... so if you mapped wishlist levels to wp roles, then on forum - options - member settings, you would map those wp roles to an sp usergroup...  and users get membership in that usergroup...  and then when you assign that usergroup and a permission set to a forum, you get the access control....

have you read:  http://codex.simple-press.com/.....ip-plugin/ to understand the process...

assuming you have done all that, then what I said is still what you want...  you can move users between usergroups on forum - usergroups - manage usergroups...  on that panel, you can also view their existing memberships to see if you hvae it the way you think you do...

Mr Papa said
oh, you mean move with usergroups...  on forum - usergroups - manage usergroups you can move members between usergroups or add/delete them from usergroups...

as to log in... did you verify you use of www or not across wp and sp settings?

do you have a link?

I sent you this and test username and password in a PM pls see..and as far as codex, yes, it says map this map that...but there is no explanation what that means, nor how to do that.

At this point I am very frustrated with the support that I also paid for nevertheless, and after 15 messages and 2 private messages I still don't have an answer nor do you yet understand what I am asking...we obviously do not communicate very well and I need to get my stuff working and get back to work that pays. I am asking you as politely as I can, if we cannot get on the same page, then I need to have a discussion about my issues with SP with someone else, please.

okay, lets start over then.  Please explain your problem in Simple Press terms.   I am not sure how we are supposed to provide help if we do not understand the problem.

I have tried using common WordPress, WishList, and Simple Press terms to explain my attempt at understanding your issue.  If you cannot confirm, deny or correct that lack of understanding, I am not sure how I can 'fix' what is not known.  Our membership policy says nothing about going into your site and doing your work for you.  If we understand the issue, absolutely we can do that in certain cases.

I do recall now the issue about logging in and can check on that and see if any more light is shed on your local issue. But it would have been nice to know thats what the credentials were for since we were talking about memberships most recently in this thread.

your login issue seems to be related to SSL (ie https)...  you are running the main site over SSL but the forum is not doing SSL... hence you have two different logins...

How are you accomplishing the SSL for the site? Are you following the WP standard?  that is with config options in your wp-config.php...  please read this for more:  http://codex.wordpress.org/Adm.....n_Over_SSL

I am guessing you may not have the two DEFINES for forcing SSL defined...

I also replied to your PM regarding that account and what I cannot do with it due to limited account..

Now that gives me something to work with, thank you. I did read it and add the define for admin but it does not help, however since it is tied to SSL, I have contacted my hosting co to help me out with it and they are looking into it.

on the login, I sent the test user name just so you would see what I was trying to explain about not working, I was not hoping to have you go in and fix my stuff (even though it would have been the best solution)...I will try to do it following your instructions and maybe map it all out one more time from scratch and I get stuck i will drop you a line and we can see what then.

Thank you.

I am getting somewhere now, in the PM you sent me I rechecked everything and found that it seems I have had all mapped our correctly. At the end of the msg you mention moving peeps but from one usergroup to the other. This is where I am still not clear because I want them to stay part of the same SP usergroup: members I just want them to now to see posts of those who entered through a diff WL level.

Question: if two people join forumX but one enters through WL level1 and one through WL level2, they both have same wp roles, both belong to the same SP usergroup, they will still not see each others posts because they entered through diff levels on WL  (if WL specifies they have access to one or the other)? And then they only see posts from other folks mapped out the same way who are on the same level of WL as them - even though in reality they are all part of the same forum created on SP?
