Error when upgrading SP Plugins - Access Denied

I am trying to update the SimplePress plugins after having updates WP and Simple Press itself. After going to Dashboard / Update, I get a list of all the plugin to update . I click Select All to select all plugins (or even if I just check on), and the click "Update SP Plugins" and then get a blank page with the words "Access denied - you do not have permission". 

All help appreciated.

Would usually point to the fact that as an SP admin user you do not have the capability to Manage Plugins.

If you go to the forum admin > Admins > Manage Admins and tajke a look at your capabilities is 'Manage Plugins' one of them?
