I have one user with this problem:

using the tinyMCE editor, every paste becomes a copy from word 🙁

it doesn't matter what he pastes, even if it is plain text, as soon as he hits CTRL+V the copy from word window pops up. see screen shot.any idea what can be done to fix it?photo-73-72f3bb36.jpgImage Enlarger

Ok - first step as always - try it here!
So - this is being written in an external plain text editor and I will copy and paste.

And this is being written in MS Word although it is an older OSX version.

Both copied and pasted in with no problem. This is using Mac/OSX though.

Initial thought is no idea whatsoever. Never come across this one either. Does he have some kind of unusual hot-key mapping software installed?

Got a reply from that member:

The problem doesn't occur from on home pc, he tried IE9, FF 3.6.27 (please don't comment on that version - lol)  and the latest Chrome.

I asked him to give me an update on the (old) IE version he is using at work where the problem occurs.

Oh dear... the term 'old IE version' is enough to send shivers down any developers spine and start them shaking. If it is pre-IE8 then we don't support it any longer...

IE 8.0.6001.18702

I figured out I have the very same version here, at a client of mine, tried it and even if I paste plain text, IE8 asks first if I want to allow this application access to the clipboard and upon confirmation the above show pop-up happens 🙁

Can you please try with 8.0.6001.18702 and let me know if you can duplicate the problem please? Is 8.0.6001.18702 still supported/compatible with SP?

Well I don't have any IE as a Mac/OSX user but Steve or Brandon may have this available. We shall see.

I have to say this is one of the more bizarre things I have ever heard about IE and I have not heard of it happening before when IE8 was the latest heap of $%&@. Is this some kind of IE option?

if you can't duplicate this, we can close the issue.

The user with the problem, is in his "work environment" hence can't do anything lacking admin rights. He can't confirm/deny any other software interfering with the browser.
