Is there a way to easily export or download my current forum content? (i.e. forum topics, posts, etc.) If so, how can I do this? I'm currently using the latest version of Simple Press with several forums and topics within each.

Hi Sarah.. FTP is the easiest.

cPanel has an option to compress a directory then download it via http.

Personally I prefer FTP. Once a month I FTP all my site files to local disk for safe keeping. wink

No, ftp wont work for the data... most any wp backup plugin is capable of backing up the tables that simple press uses if thats what you want to accomplish...

if something else, then you would need to manually export the data from your db using phpmyadmin or your favorite db tool...

We do have an open ticket for adding an export feature, but no ETA on implementing it...

Hmmmmm.. Misread the question. embarassed

If your hosting account uses cPanel? Go to MySql and export the tables to a file and download it.

If you want to export everything, files, data, etc. A good plugin to use is Backup Buddy. If using this plugin, be sure in it's config to togle on "backup all tables" as by default it only does the WP db tables.

For safe keeping - i still advise downloading all your content by FTP.
