Mornin Y'all..
After updating to WP 4.5 and the latest SP I'm experiencing a fatal error creating a new topic. Ran repair on all sp databases and dumped cloudflare cache.
Fatal error: Call to undefined function mb_convert_encoding() in /home/ebms/public_html/blog/wp-content/sp-resources/forum-plugins/plupload/library/sp-plupload-components.php on line 980
Browser console error. Could not write session state file TypeError: this.Paths is null

Had this error yesterday when editing an existing post and adding a new image.

Yep.. But not sure what post you are referring to.
BTW replying to existing post does the same thing.

fidosysop-2 FYI: Installing mbstring resolved the exact same issue I was having, discussed in that other topic. Here is the resolution explained.

no, not new, wp has used multibyte stuff for long time since some languages require more characters ... but you probably just never did anything to invoke it..
