Hi all,

My forum is down with a fatal error cry Usually I can figure out what's going on and fix it, but no luck with this one.

Please see http://vertrekkersinfo.nl/forum/

I'm not sure how long it's been like this; wasn't online much today. I do know a plugin was installed and removed: http://wordpress.org/extend/pl.....-blogroll/ Not sure if that has anything to do with it; another admin tried that plugin and he didn't visit the forum before or after.

The complete error:

Fatal error: Uncaught exception 'Exception' with message 'DateTimeZone::__construct() [<a href='datetimezone.--construct'>datetimezone.--construct</a>]: Unknown or bad timezone (UTC 1)' in /usr/problem-with-post-edit-buttonome/vertrekker/domains/vertrekkersinfo.nl/public_html/wp-content/plugins/simple-press/forum/database/sp-db-statistics.php:312 Stack trace: #0 /usr/problem-with-post-edit-buttonome/vertrekker/domains/vertrekkersinfo.nl/public_html/wp-content/plugins/simple-press/forum/database/sp-db-statistics.php(312): DateTimeZone->__construct('UTC 1') #1 /usr/problem-with-post-edit-buttonome/vertrekker/domains/vertrekkersinfo.nl/public_html/wp-content/plugins/simple-press/forum/database/sp-db-statistics.php(86): sp_set_last_visited('275') #2 /usr/problem-with-post-edit-buttonome/vertrekker/domains/vertrekkersinfo.nl/public_html/wp-content/plugins/simple-press/sp-startup/forum/sp-forum-support-functions.php(126): sp_track_online() #3 [internal function]: sp_populate_query_vars('') #4 /usr/problem-with-post-edit-buttonome/vertrekker/domains/vertrekkersinfo.nl/public_html/wp-includes/plugin.php(405): call_user_func_array('sp_populate_que...', Array) #5 /usr/ in /usr/problem-with-post-edit-buttonome/vertrekker/domains/vertrekkersinfo.nl/public_html/wp-content/plugins/simple-press/forum/database/sp-db-statistics.php on line 312

Thanks in advance for any help on this!

this came up last night for first time... been there in sp 5.0 from beginning though... only issue if your wp timezone is set to a UTC offset rather than a city timezone...

See this post for a fix you can make: https://simple-press.com/suppo.....2/#p103907

please refer back to post #15 for the original diff...

I just realized my forum had the problem too, it probably came with latest upgrade or some parameters I have changed the last hours since the upgrade. The patch offered works for me as well.

I am wondering if it will be included in next build, so I don't need to watch and do manual changes in sp-db-statistics.php

Thanks.

yes, we have done some more research this afternoon and it did indeed come from a change we made to 5.0.2... It will get fixed in the next release... have to see how widespread it is... frankly, didnt know anyone used a UTC offset vs real timezone string in the wp settings... we dont, so we missed the bug...

Haha, I have an excuse for that 🙂

Since my site is about/for world cruisers (as in sailing around the world), any talk about timezones is usually in UTC / GMT. Also, we don't reach the Azores but 38.814031,-27.208557 laugh

(Having said that, I did change the setting ;))

I must admit I checked out your site a while ago laugh

Sorry to say mine is in Dutch ... and Google translate is ... well, you know 🙂

Not too many cruiseships on my site, though -- only when they rescue an unfortunate sailor cool

Would be nice to go on a cruise, though, and have some comfort while at sea ... Who knows, I might just do that at some point. Love sailing, but nothing wrong with a bit of pampering and taking it nice and easy 🙂
