Hi,
I want to put a featured post widget to my theme. I looked at the codex but dont understand it. I want my featured posts to look similar, with avatars like your "Recent Forum Posts" layout below.
Can you send me the shortcode?

However the widget is just for recent posts, i am looking for one for featured posts. I put the shortcode into a widget ... [sp_featured_topics] , however this does not show the avatar. How can i edit this to show the avatar?

you said you wanted featured posts, but you used the shortcode for featured topics... if want featured posts as you indicate, then use [sp_featured_posts]

for arguments like an avatar that you can use... just remember when used in a shortcode, you cannot use camel case...

I put this shortcode [sp_featured_topics] in my widget, it does not show the featured post after i go to the frontend as admin and click on the "feature post" in the toolset. Then it says "invalid database query"
I am in the dark here..

it works better if you use the code button... I cannot read what you are doing there...
what is the db query error? would be most helpful...
and you need to make up your mind if you are talking about featured topics or posts... they are two different things...
have you actually identified some posts to used as featured posts?

Hi,
I got it to work, it was putting a "," infront of the post number. However im using the shortcode and the default does not have avatar. Im using [sp_featured_posts] . My question is what must i add to this short code to show the avatar. Can u post the short code for me. Thanks
