I get emails like this sometimes....:
"I can't access the member section. I'm sure I'm putting in the correct information.
I tried to reset my password but no success."
So, my first step is to find his membership.
See if I can figure this out.
I search the members list in the forum using his email and using his username....
nothing but:
"There were no member lists found"
Uh?
I go into the WP dashboard...under Forums/Users
Same thing, same results....nothing.
So, I manually look through my list of members and I find him.
There he is plain as day. Why didn't the search pick him up using his email or username???
I try a test, let's search using his first name. It finds him, plus others with the same name.
Ok, sorta a pain, but I found him.
Curious, or am I missing something?

on the forum - users admin panel, you can search by user login or display name... but not email address... if you notice on that panel, email address is not a piece of information displayed... we could maybe add it, but the panel is already pretty full with simple press info... you can of course, search on the wp users panel by email address... we dont want to just duplicate the info on that panel on our panel... btw, the searching for both is done via wp built in code... it does not appear to be case sensitive.... and you can search for fragments (ie partial name)...
on the members list, how are you searching? you must use the user Display Name.... not login or email address... both of those would be undesirable to show users/visitors on your site... are you using the exact display name or wildcards?

just did some quick tests and what I said above is working... Except its seems on the members list, searching by wildcard is broken... we do run the next version ready for release next week here, so possible something we broke here, but will open ticket to make sure its fixed before release...
