Ike will check IE. It's not a browser I have available. What version are you trying it with?
I had a brief conversation with him this morning and I believe he thinks he has found the bug ticket for Firefox suggesting they are aware of it.
You are not quite accurate however. Chrome is not alone. Safari also handles the flex correctly and so does Opera and Maxthon.

Yes I am getting the same problem in IE..
The first real problem here is the size of the images in general. It has been pointed out several times for different reasons why it's not a great idea to link to images this large, but this doesn't change the fact that there is an underlying problem.
Secondly, this is down to the fact that Reboot uses CSS3 Flexbox, and other themes don't. The fact that it works fine in WebKit browsers means there is a problem with either FF and IE or there is a problem with the WebKit flex prefixes (as not all problems / bugs have negative effects, they simply don't work as intended). Interestingly here however, Chrome have dropped most of their WebKit flex prefixes and are using the official ones - which just makes it more confusing!
It is being looked into, and I have a couple of paths to investigate but I'm not sure this one will be included in the first batch of fixes.
On a lighter note, current fixes in place for the next update are quotes, embeds and signatures. Have opened a ticket on ratings and will be sorting that one next. Thanks for the reports, the more the better!
