The forum looks great on every browser we've tested except ie8 on Windows XP. The main forum page looks fine but the individual forums have no formatting. We have tried the different themes. sacsteam.org/forum Is this a known issue? I'm not finding anything in search.
Not at all - no problems with IE8 as far as I am aware although it is the last of the pretty bad IE versions and I would recommend you move up to 9.
I can't take a look myself as I do not have IE available (I use a Mac) but Steve will be along later who may still have an IE8 version he can use to take a look at your site.

Are you running the latest stacked theme and fools-gold overlay? The one available here for download?
Have you made changes to the stacked.php file or the overlay file? It looks like for some reason IE8 doesn't like the theme files you are using.
If not the latest version or if you have made changes you might want to switch to the supplied one to check if they work.
Your WordPress theme ifeaturepro and it's use of PieHTC may be causing the issue. They are trying to be pretty aggressive by adding in abilities for the latest mobile devices and also special functions to try and support IE6-9.
Is PieHTC something you added or does it come with the WP theme?
Does the forum display in IE8 using a 'stock' WP theme like twenty-ten, twenty-eleven?

I don't know anything about PieHTC. We didn't add it. I can ask CyberChimps support.
By the way, I have both IfeaturePro and SP on a personal WP site. SP seems to work fine in IE9. I'll have to get out my laptop with IE8 to check whether 8 works.
we obviously do most of our testing and work on IE 9 but do check IE 8 just less extensively... cant wait for MS to sunset that junk... I have played with IE 10 preview and finally an IE version that looks promising...
as Brandon asks, would be nice to see if it looks samewith default wp theme...
