Support Forum
Just set up a group with 4 forums in it.
http://willowglenweb.com/charm/chat
About half the time I load one, e.g. http://willowglenweb.com/charm.....discussion
it auto-redirects to http://willowglenweb.com/charm.....discussion and displays a 404 error.
Then a few minutes later it's working fine again. Only thing I could think to try was changing and changing back the permalinks, but it's still exhibiting the same broke again, good again behavior in what seems to be a bit of a cycle.
The other forums, this one for example http://willowglenweb.com/charm.....or-selling, don't seem to do it so I guess I can/should delete the funky forum and start over, but I want to make sure I address any deeper issues now while I'm in development phase.
Thanks for any advice.
I have just spent a few minutes loading up pages all over the place without - typically - any incident!
All of the forum url's seem to get created correctly - looking at the status bar of the forum when I hover over links - and there doesn't appear to be any general redirection going on.
These random type issues are always the hardest to track down of course and I fear what we will need is to discern a pattern and something replicable. Maybe a hard request.
One thought - and this should not actually make any difference but is worth asking. Do you have a standard WP page or post that has the same name/slug as the forum that is playing up?

I would have bet a billlion bucks anybody else who checked wouldn't experience the problem, lol. Damn intermittent unpredictable errors. : (
I thought about it being a duplicate slug problem but the slug is unique and forum-specific.
Fortunately everything is new and unpopulated so I deleted that particiular forum and fired up a new one with a different name and slug, and it doesn't seem to be doing it.
I'm gonna call it a glitch in the matrix and move on.

P.S. Thanks for your FANTASTIC plugin and responsiveness in this forum. You and MrPapa have both been very helpful, and it's very much appreciated. After fumbling around with bbPress and almost going with tal.ki I can't believe it took me so long to find what is clearly the most awesome, full-featured, professional, well-supported forum solution for wordpress.
Not specifically regarding this topic, but..
For what it's worth. I was looking at my Google webmaster tools. Seeing a slew of 404 errors on forum posts i knew were there. I verified a handful of them and the pages loaded correctly.
Don't know if the server was down when Google crawled the site, or what. But the dates were not all the same either. Google recently updated their webmaster tools page design, maybe it's something hosed on there end.
