is there anyway to delete a number of posts in a forum .. or say renew the forum without deleting and building new ...

Hey Debby,

Short of deleting an entire forum and rebuilding it (shouldn't take a couple of minutes I wouldn't have thought - as long as you note the settings) I think the only realistic option is deleting topics one at a time.. Assuming you were talking about topics and not posts within a topic.

Note - we also have a 'Prune Database' plugin which can help delete multiple topics. How you do it really depends on what and how much it is you want to remove.
