Well I do not see anything obvious. Or anything familiar. The links, as is plain to see, are getting created correctly yet it is also plain to see that something is stopping them being processed by the WP rewrite engine.

What exactly is this 'maven' forum buisness? Might that have a bearing on this?

One thing I did.  I originally had the Forum located dianedandeneau.com/forum.  I then moved it to: dianedandeneau.com/pages/forum

Now it is under dianedandeneau.com/blog-home/forum

I bet this caused the issue.  I can't have the application in the root.  Do I need to reinstall?

In theory it shouldn't make any difference but it is worth a try. Update the forum permalink after any change though.
