When I go to
Options > Smileys
I see this message:
Sorry, uploads disabled! Storage location does not exist or is not writable. Please see forum - integration - storage locations to correct.
Is this on the Dashboard? I'm not seeing it. Can someone point me in the right direction?
Thank you!
Integration > Storage Locations is an admin panel in the forum admin - just beneath where you were when looking at the Smileys panel.
Various storage locations (folders on your server) are created - or at least creation is attempted - during the Simple:Press install. Very rarely but every now and then, it will encounter a web server where it is not possible to create those folders due to permission settings on the server. Or - more rarely - the install will be able tp create the folders but not always assign them the correct permissions to make them writeable.
As the message said - the first task is to visit that admin panel and see what is wrong - i.e., missing or just not writeable - and then correct as needed. If exists then the usual permissions used for a folder are 755 and for files within them 644.

Well there is a peculiarity.
go to the 'Admins' section (the one with the star icon) and open up the pane; named 'Manager Admins' and against your own section there should be a 'Manage Integration' cap. Tunn that on, save and then reload the whole forum admin from the WP menu.

Ok - well first they are NOT instructions - merely descriptions of what the folder is for. Next - interesting that they are not contained in a tooltip within the page/device display area. Suggests a conflict with some other display item on the site. Would be nice to know what...
So - why are you now seeing more locations with a problem than before? What did you change to make that happen?
By the way - as the popup help will tell you - you an actually store this stuff wherever you want. The default locations are just that - defaults.

I wasn't seeing more locations with the problem. I just didn't list every one previously.
I added locations.
Thank you for your help.
