Oh almost... when a new reply is posted, there is no icon showing. It worked fine before.

Nothing we've suggested should have any affect on icons..

What icon are you referring to? Where was it / where is it now missing?

Could you take a screenshot?

Before, there would be a little marker when there was an unread message but it doesn't show up since I changed to the child themes.

That icon is still in the standard default images folder. Nothing in the child theme will change that as no images are supplied in the child theme...

How strange... I can see the sp_NewPost image but it doesn't show on either forum since I switched to the child theme. Any ideas?

The child theme will have literally no bearing on whether an icon does or doesn't show up unless it has been overwritten with a new icon in the child themes images folder.

Are you caching the forum page at all? Any caching plugins must omit the forum page completely as it works dynamically on one page - And any remaining cache files must be cleared.

I have removed all caching from the sites as it was playing havoc with Wishlist Member. All I have done is switch from the custom theme to child version of default.

If you grab the url of the image in question and then run that in the browser does it display?

Yes - /wp-content/sp-resources/forum-themes/default/images/sp_NewPost.png

If I switch to the default theme it shows up, but not in the child theme.

and what is the child theme?  just a single css file for child?  no images directories, right? making sure you have child and not a custom...
