When I'm in another part of the website, all the links on top of the page appear as they should.
However when I link to my Simplepress forum, the word forum on top of the page isn't there, although when I hover around where it should be, the link is still there. This happened after I updated SimplePress. Is there a fix?
on forum - integration - page and permalink, what is your setting for filter wp list pages? and on forum - options - general display settings, what do you have for remove page title completely?

Since you mentioned them, I played around with several options. For integration options, I now only filter wp list pages selected. For theme display options, I now have only have Bypass wp_head action complete requirement selected.
When I turn off remove page title completely, I get the forum link visible on the top of the page again. However now on every forum page I get a the name of the forum page in big ugly text. I didn't want that. Is there a way to keep the forum link on the top of the page without the big ugly text on every forum page?

the name of the forum page in bug ugly text is coming from your wp theme.... most themes put the page name on all pages...
to remove you will need to hide with css or create a custom page template for the forum where you remove the wp title from the template...

better to do the custom page template if you dont like what your wp theme is doing... but, for css,
#post-490 h1.storytitle { display:none; }

and if you notice the css, it targets the ID of the page... so would not work if that ever changed...
custom templates in WP are designed just for this - to do special things on individual pages...
