When I click on the Club Topics forum I get a 'this link appears to be broken'
Especially weird ... when I click on the 'Events' forum, I am taken to a post within the site
??
Thanks for any advice.
any reason for all the bold??
looks like you are using wp super cache... you cannot cache the forum page... have you disabled caching for the forum page in the wp super cache settings?

Thank you so much for the response. The bold was not intentional - sorry.
I couldn't find any instructions for preventing a single page from being cached, so I disabled and then deleted WP Super Cache entirely. I still get the same results.
I even created a new forum ... WEC Businesses (http://www.wecftl.com/wordpres.....usinesses/) ... and when I try to click on that, I get 'Ooops! This link appears to be missing.'
Any other suggestions?
Thanks
on the wp super cache settings page, there is a list of page to exclude... in your case, with the odd x in the url, you would use /x/forum/ or perhaps just /forum/
what is that x in the url anyways? it appears you create a page called x and then created the forum page as a child of that page x... assume that is what you wanted...
now I do not get a message like you do (the oops one)... I just get a blank page...
so are both the x and forum pages published and public? or are you hiding behind password or membership plugin?

Thanks again ... but still no luck.
I didn't see a list of pages to exclude in WP Super Cache - but sometimes I do think I can be blind 🙂 In any case, Super Cache is out of the equation now - I deactivated and then deleted it.
Yes, the x was a page for the forum to be a sub-page. I want the forum to be kind of hidden until I get it working - and the site uses an old template that doesn't allow any control over the menu - all public pages are listed. Anyway, just to look a little more normal, I have now made it a subpage of the 'Programs' page.
Yes, both the parent and the forums page are published and public. I am not using any kind of password or membership plugin.
I still get the oops message on 'businesses' and 'club topics' forum - and I'm taken to an unrelated post when I click on the 'events' forum.
interesting that you see an oops message and I do not... what do you see if you log out and visit as guest? there is some different processing going on there based on logged in or not...
have you looked in your server error log for any info?

Notice that I also get the oooops message when I click on Members, or Profile, or Inbox!?
I must have installed something wrong? Maybe I should delete and start over?
I just looked in my ftp listings and Simple Press is installed at: /public_html/wordpress/wp-content/plugins/simple-press
Here is a screenshot in case it gives you any ideas:
Have you checked the SP permalink in the wp integration admin panel? Check the correct wp page is selected for the forum at the top and also click on the update permalink button.
If that is all correct - load the main forum page and hover the mouse cursor over various links. Are they being formed correctly or are they wrong?
