Support Forum
I think this might be in relation to a previous post of mine.
I have a few of our forum members that are running into login problems. I have asked them if they are using Safari and they were. Now at least one of them downloaded and is using Chrome, but still having the same issue.
She says, "Whenever I try to login it keeps going back to login page..... Sometimes I get through to the forum but then can't open topics before I'm bounced back to login site....".
She also says, "Ok so what happens is I get to view the forums - manage to login, try to open a topic and it logs me straight back out and onto the what is the rapha journey page..... Safari or chrome...."
This has been working fine for her until this morning and nothing changed on her end.
I experienced this as well a few days ago with my own login.
Can you help? I don't know how to troubleshoot these kind of technical issues. I am happy to give you a test login to see if you can find the problem on the forum.
Thank you!
Hey Jenn,
Whatever the problem is it could possibly be the same issue as your other post (users being timed out / logged out and redirected to WP login page).
What are you using for login? Do you have any plugin or theme control for it? Or is it just WP login and SP login through the forum itself?
Membership plugin perhaps?
If so, what settings do you have and what settings are you currently using?
Hi Ike. Thanks for your reply. I am just using the WP login and SP login through the forum itself. I don't any any other plugin or theme control.
I do however use WPeMember as my membership plugin.
When I read your post I realized that when we went live a few days ago I protected the forum page using the options for WPeMember and I am wondering if that is causing a glitch somewhere.
So I just removed that protect page option and I have emailed my members to see if that fixes the problem.
Do you think that might be the cause or might it be something else?
Thank you so much for all your help with all my problems! 🙂
I do not believe anyone here has actual personal experience with that membership plugin but yes - that could well be the cause of your problems in this area and protection may be involved. To be frank I would ask the membership plugin authors directly.
As I just said in another thread, Simple:Press itself has no control, not tries to exert any, over login, logout etc., and is at the mercy of the environment it is operational in.

Hi forum folks.
Everything seemed to be going fine with this issue but I have just received an email from a member of ours that states she can log in fine but every time she clicks on something like a post it knocks her back to a different page and requires her to log in again.
I understand that Simple:Press doesn't have control over the login process but I am at a loss as to where to go from here? I just wonder if there is a glitch somewhere in the forum that kicks them out everytime they click on something.
I do use the Tips & Tricks membership plugin, but I have unprotected this page so it shouldn't have any impact on the forum and it has it's own login that is separate from the WP login.
I'm happy to provide any information and details to help get this sorted.
Thanks so much for your help!
Let's put it this way... there is nothing that would affect one user any different to all users (with the exception of permissions and roles of course). We would need to know more - like what the user is actually clicking on (specifics) , what browser and OS she is using and are they up to date. Anything else you can think of.

Thank you, I know this is frustrating!
Here is a detailed description of what she is doing to cause the problem:
"If I press the edit profile button it takes me back to The Rapha Journey Memberships page with blue logo with the need to log in again. If I log in again and press the log in button I get back to the Rapha Journey Memberships page. If I just log in and try to get to Community Forum I end up back on the RJM page."
She is using an iPad air 2 / ios 8.3 up to date / Safari.
The interesting thing is I have the exact same setup and my account works fine.
Our website is http://www.raphajourney.com/co.....nity-forum. If you need temp access to the forum let me know.
Any insight you can give would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
can you elaborate on "press the edit profile button"?? what does this mean?
is that in the wp admin (that says "your pofile")? or the profile button in the forum header (says 'edit your profile')? or are you looking at the forum profile popup link to edit the profile (that says 'edit user profile')? or similar on the forum profile page display? or other?
whichever, do you get same behavior with your emember plugin temporarily disabled?
