Ok, I need more help with this. I don't know why the forum only renders correctly in Chrome, not FF or IE. I use chrome and just noticed it when testing the view in other browser.  One thing I should note is that the post page renders correctly in Opera.

It seems to only be at the post level. The member info in on the side, but the post doesn't start until after that is done.

You can see it here: http://oddsonbetting.net/sport.....514-picks/

All the other problems I am having is user error, so I am sure this is too. Let me know what I need to do to change this.

Thanks...

The area that you have the forum in is a bit to narrow to get everything shown correctly. Notice how your Quicklinks (The new topics/Select Forum) dropdown overlaps the search bar on the left unlike here, for example.

There are a couple of things you can do.

You can try the Stacked Simple:Press theme. That places the user info above the post instead of beside it.

You could also decrease the width of the left column just a bit in the TopicView.php theme file. A little more complicated because you would want to create your own Simple:Press theme first. Then find the spTopicView.php file in your theme's \template folder and do something like change

sp_ColumnStart('tagClass=spUserSection spLeft&width=15%&height=50px');

from 15% to 13%.

Or you could take a look at your WordPress theme and see if there is a way to widen it or at least widen the side that Simple:Press is on.

its just a difference in how browsers treat padding... you have such a super narrow area allocated for the forum, that you need to tweak those...

go into your sp theme, the topic view template file (spTopicView.php) and adjust down the content width area...  from 84% to 83 or 82%...

be sure to make your own theme before making a change if you have not already done so...  http://codex.simple-press.com/.....g-a-theme/

ok.....I the page layout isn't going to be the one I use for the live forum. I was waiting for all my testing to be done before I designed a forum template page.

Thanks for the options. I figured it was a rather simple fix and will be working on int over the next week or so. Not sure which way yet, but at least I understand the custom theme option now.

I took out the sidebar and it looks fine now.

It is a good start. And I can always customize it now that I understand how to customize the theme.

Thanks again!
