I installed the simple press plugin correctly and without problems. The only thing I'm wondering right now when I click on the forum page generated by the plugin it gives me this http://fxofforex.com/forum/ instead of a sample forum or something. Did I miss doing anything yet? btw the theme that I used was Legatus theme by Orange-themes. Is the problem with the theme?

not sure what you are doing...   where is wordpress installed??  it appears to be at the url you gave of http://fxofforex.com/forum/... since every thing on the site is referenced off that url... which means that is not the url the forum generated...

if you wanted the forum page as the site main page, did you configure wp that way?  thats on wp - settings - reading...

Wordpress is installed in http://fxofforex.com/ the page it generated seems to be like a whole new site. Is there any other way to know which page the forum generated? Because I don't remember creating a page "forum". It did say that it was published a minute ago after I installed simple press.

by default, we do create a page called forum...  that is quite bizarre as it does seem to have created a whole new site...  never seen that...

your theme might be dong something very odd... but not sure... it is violating wp standards and loading its own version of jquery instead of using the one that comes with wp.. but that wouldnt cause this...

perhaps go to forum - integration - page and permalink and try setting the wp strict api option and see what happens...

Afraid I don't really understand either! frown

Simple:Press uses a WordPress page to display itself on which it creates at install. By default it calls this page 'forum' with a page slug of the same name. It will then take the site url (as recorded by you in the WordPress > Settings > General admin panel) and your current permalink settings to create the correct url to dislpay the forum page.

Under normal operations the url you specified in the first post of this thread looks correct.

I've already solved the issue. I'm sorry about the problems I've caused, It looks like my coworker of created a whole new wordpress site and installed it under the forum folder thus making conflicts with the permalink. Please close the thread. Thank You for the replies.  cryfrown
