Forum pages getting redirected to other worpdress pages with similar names

I have a wordpress page titled welcome and I have a forum page titled welcome.  The wordpress page has a url of /welcome and the forum page has a url of /forum/welcome

When I try to visit the forum page I get redirected to the wordpress page.

I am afraid that is how WordPress will work. It will take the last part of the url and compare it against it's post and/or page slugs and as soon as a match is found it will be selected. Afraid you need to have different slugs. You can retain the page titles of course but the slugs need to be unique.
