So an admin can't have a forum rank badge PLUS the admin badge?

What about moderators? Can they have rank badge plus mod badge?

Is there a work-around for this?

So only regular users can have multiple badges?

Well mods should still have the feature then, right?

Can i send you my login info privately and you can check this out yourself?

If you ant to do that then please PM credentials to both myself and to 'Mr Papa'. Please include in the PM a link to your site, a link to this thread and brief reminder of the problem. And one of us will take a look for you. Note in this case that this would need to be a forum admin account with full access to the forum menus.

so this is working as designed...  forum admins and moderators dont get a forum rank based on post count...  they just get the rank titles of admin and moderator... and no badge...

why?

I dont know - its been that way since the dawn of ranks in simple press - probably tied to when we just had default avatars based on the four user types - admin, moderator, user and guest...  and only the user type gets a forum rank based on posts with a badge...

as I mentioned earlier, I cannot think of a technical reason why its the way it is, just that its likely a holdover from the earlier days and no on has ever tried or mentioned trying to give moderators a forum rank (with or without badge) based on the post count...

as mentioned, Andy and I will be discussing it to see if there is a reason or if it should be changed...  but until then, its working as designed...  i

f you wanted to do a bit of coding, it could be overcome using a filter when the user object is instantiated to add in the forum rank and badge for moderators...

Hi there,

I assigned myself, the admin of my own forum, a special rank. I have removed my self from that special rank and would now like to be part of the same forum rank progression as my members. I have a structure set up to with several ranks. Once I removed my self from my special rank list, all that happened was that I lost my admin badge. I thought it was going to be replaced with the badge associated with how many posts I have, just like I have set up for my members.

How do I do this?

I have just run some tests here on my account and indeed - it switched to the standard ranking as expected so the question is - what is up with your system. Can we assume that all your members DO see whatever ranking badge/label you have set for them?

Hi Yellow,

Yes, all of my members do see the different rank badges that are assigned to them. If you'd like, I can forward on to you my admin cred's and you can go in and have a look at what's happening. Let me know.
