I'm wondering if there are some Forum Replies/Blog Post Comments Integration?
I've currently turned comments off of my blog posts because I want to encourage people to post on the forum. However, I feel that a blog post that becomes a popular forum topic doesn't look as popular as it should be on the blog post version.
There were two possible solutions I was envisioning/problem-with-post-edit-buttonoping to find:
1. Is there a way to allow the "forum replies" to appear/duplicate as comments on the blog post?
2. If a registered user is already logged in, is there a way for them to post a comment on the blog post that will also appear/duplicate on the forum too?

Hi Andrew, glad you joined.
The blog linking plugin has options to Show Topic Posts (from forum) as Comments (to blog post) and to create new topic posts (forum replies) from blog post comments.
Probably the best way to see the various options on how they work is to look at the help info in the Blog Linking setup page in forum admin > Components - Blog Linking.
From what you are wanting it to do sounds similar to how I do it. As an example these are my settings.
Take a look at your settings and the help info and then if have questions let us know.

Thanks! Looks much better to have the forum comments show up below the blog posts. Now I need to work on integrating the forum avatars with the wordpress user accounts.
I'm currently not showing a field to post comments under blog posts. Is that how it should be?

SP will not and can not remove it if that is what you are asking. That is a product of your WP theme comments template.

Ok.
Now that I've adjusted the settings, I have a new problem. Before, when a blog post was duplicated in the forum, it retained the title of the article for the forum topic name and the forum URL.
I just posted a new article, and the forum topic and forum URL posted it as "topic-189." Where do I reset this back to retaining the blog post title?

there is no option for that... It should always retain the blog post title... unless it was all characters that are not a valid title and they were stripped out...
has this happened repeatedly? or just this one post?
will have to run some tests myself too...

tested the blog linking in couple sites... created new wp blog post and had it create topic in forum... worked fine...
so lets collect some info... wp, sp and blog linking versions, please...

Ahhh... we just updated WP and SP to the latest versions last night but we didn't update the blog linking yet. That's probably it! I'll talk to our programmer about updating it and see if that fixes it. Thanks!
