Ok, I'm not the most tech savvy, so I'll need you to walk me through this. I downloaded the child theme and activated it. As for copying and all of that, I'm not too sure about what to do next. If you could provide a step-by-step guide as to what to do next, I should be fine. Here is my site, I just want the forum to match the color scheme of the site, which is crimson. Thanks.
so have you seen this: https://simple-press.com/docum.....ild-theme/
if you want to change certain elements of simple press, best to use the inspector of your browser to see what a current element is using for css... then in the inspector, you can 'what if' changes until you have ti right...
once you have an element and the changes you want, just make the change in your child theme css...
if you are still stuck on how to do css, perhaps tell us an example element (section of forum) you want to customize and we can walk you through how to inspect, customize and make the change in your child theme....
however, we cannot customize your entire theme for you unless you wish to use our custom theme service...but we can certainly try to get your going in the right direction...

TIP: To customize the Base Colors used throughout your forums, copy a version of the overlay file you want to use to your child theme structure. For instance, I customized the "Light Matte" overlay by adding and editing the file at /wp-content/sp-resources/themes/mychildtheme/styles/overlays/light-matte.php
To customize styles for other elements, edit the file at /wp-content/sp-resources/themes/yourchildtheme/styles/childtheme.css
NOTE: You only need to add new styles, or copy existing parent theme styles in their entirety and edit as desired.
Hope this helps!
