Support Forum
I'm trying to rebuild index on the forum I suspect it's causing all the issues, but it looks like it's doing nothing. It's an huge subforum, I keep having the "please wait" message after 2+hours and with my top i don't see queries being done. It's possible to split the process or doing it in shell with CLI php?
Oh dear - this is probably the issue then. The indexing routine is earmarked for breaking it up into batches but it is not done yet so I assume it is running out of time on your server. It probably hit your timeout limit and then stopped at that point.
Is there any chance you can increase the timeout?

Yes, I own th server and I'm root. I set unlimited max_execution_time and increased memory_limit, and seems that SF rebuilt index in a snap on that big forum. Now everything appear to be correct and I reenabled the dropdown, everyting is working.
So I guess I can mark this as solved, still puzzled as why I don't have a memory limit error in stderr but at least it's solved
thanks for the update! good news!
