All by itself as a component it can't have any real effect. In fact t just doesn't do anything! so are people making a lot of use of it?

Is there any chance you could take a look in your server php error log to see if there are any errors that get repeated over and over and over that might be Sp related?

Andy is correct... the file uploader plugin does nothing until a button is pressed...  loading its minimal js/css shouldnt affect anything either...
