French translation broken

Hi there,

Our French website is now showing most of the forum in English.

I’ve tried to solve by updating everything in forum > integration > language translations but that didn’t work.

I’ve asked our developer to take a look, he says lots of the .mo files have been corrupted, instead of the usual content they contain html for content related to the https://glotpress.simple-press.com/ website pages.

We created the sp-fr_FR many years ago, is this still the correct file name for the front end.

I cannot locate the old translation advice, does this no longer exist?

Hi again, I know I didn’t post too long ago, but would really appreciate advice as soon as possible please, as all our French subscribers are seeing an English language forum.

Thanks for posting. We looking into the issues with the translator. We got another report last week. Thanks for uploading and sharing the files, that makes the troubleshooting much easier.

We do not have a solution at the moment but will get back to you asap.

Any news on a fix for this please?

In the meantime, is there any documentation on this, the old resources are down?

I’d like to understand how to add the translations correctly, and get this ready if necessary.

Or do you hold a full French translation of the forum now, and this is automatically updated?

Yes, it’s working again thanks.

We just updated the files in Integrations > Language translations.

So, do you have a full French translation now of S:P and all plugins, or do I need to keep the .mo files up to date?

Hi Stefan!

We almost have a full translation. The core is 98% complete. Later this fall we will update the translation engine with the latest code for everything but I believe that most of the updates has been functional and not translation related.

What addons are you using?
