Is there a setting I can't see to get notified when a PM comes through?
Also, when trying to tag other members, I can't seem to get the dang thing working right, so have not been able to use it. To verify, type the @ symbol and start typing in the usersname. Most times, nothing shows up,
Here's the thing, sometimes other members of wishlist will show up, and they are not members of my forum. Anyone know how to remove all those non members from the members list, which they are also members listed on the bottom of the forum as forum members....kinda a pain..?? thoughts?? Rob
you can get an email... that is on forum - private messaging - options...
first, you type a user's nicename... that is display name converted to not have spaces and other special chars... usually pretty close to display name... no way to recognize a space, for example in a display name doing mentions...
not sure what you mean by not members of forum... there is only one list of members and its the wp users... there is not separate users for wp and sp or wishlist... they are all the same db of users...

yes, you are looking in wrong spot... forum options are set in the admin... forum - private messaging - options indicates in the wp admin, look on the far left for the forum admin nav menu- then the private messagin sub menu and finally the options sub sub menu... see image
That will enable sending of emails on PMs board wide... additionally, each user can opt out of receiving emails on their sp profile in the profile global options...
still think their is a misconception on users... their is only one set of users on the site - your wp users... both wishlist and sp just sit on top of that wp user db... you would really not be happy if we tried to determine real time in mentions if a user had access to the forum... what does access really mean too?? any user gets maybe 40 permissions (depends on # of plugins active)... which permission determines if they get mentions? so yeah, we just display users from the wp user db...
no, I meant user nicename.... its a wp term, not sp term... see: http://codex.wordpress.org/Fun.....t_userdata
it looks like I said user nicename is derived from the user display name... that is wrong... its determined at registration time from the user login (ie account name)... so it may not look a lot like the display name...
so yeah, I would start typing a user display name (not too fast, each character will give you a list of possible matches) as that is what we match... so when you saw a popup and the other name, that was the user nicename... but we match on the display name... we have to put the nicename into the post, because we cannot easily regex match a display name on the other end (where does it end??)...
so to clarify... type a user display name... we match it, but we will show you there nicename in the popup... pick the one you want and it will get inserted into the post... when you save the post and it is displayed, it will again show the user display name... for the example in your video, go ahead and select the one name in that popup and publish the post... see if its right when published...

so you checked the admin option and she checked her profile option?
what do you have for forum - options - email settings?
are you on shared hosting?

virtual shared? do you mean VPS?
you didnt say what your email settings were... often hosts have issue with the default wp mail settings because wp uses and email address to send stuff that does not exist... many host block sending of emails from a non existent address as a spam sending prevention... use of an smtp plugin for wp, such as HGK SMTP, can work around that limitation...
