I know there is a global option in the settings but wondered if (like other forum s/w) it was possible for the user to have this display setting to their liking from within their profile options so they could choose whether to display newest or oldest posts first within threads ?

No, afraid not...  not sure that has been asked for before... took a quick look through our future consideration list and didnt see it...  so will open a ticket for future consideration...

I'd like to +1 the idea, as I have users asking the same thing this week.  Some one newest to oldest and other want them the other way around.
