Google Analytics and AG Custom Admin causing errors?

I'm having problems with the login button and arrows on my forum.  Both of the icons are "broken".  I've gone through and isolated which plugin is causing the break, but I'm not sure why?  When I activate "Google Analytics for WordPress", the images break.  I'm hoping you can point me in the direction of a fix.  I really would like to have analytics for my site.  Please help!

I'm having another issue with just the login button.  When clicked, it does nothing.  Again, I've gone through and isolated which plugin is causing this.  It appears that the plugin "AG Custom Admin" is causing the login button to do nothing.

With both of these plugins deactivated, everything works as it should and the icons are not broken.

I have a feeling that jQuery has something to do with it....but I don't know...

I'll activate both so that you can see it "broken".

Thanks So Much!!  🙂

Oh dear. Sorry to say you have it bad here. Lots and lots of errors being thrown.

OK - jQuery itself is being loaded three times and all different versions. The jQuery UI is being loaded twice.

I think the best idea would be for you to deactivate those plugins you mentioned and shout so I can take a second look and we can work though these one at a time. But by deactivating those plugins we will see what effect they are having and of they are the real issue.

OK, both are deactivated.  It works now.  Most errors are gone...I think.

I don't know if this will help, but....

  • I've got SP setup to force strict use of WP API.  This was in response to your suggestion to this thread for someone else (I had the same problem).
  • I've got this loading (on the page-I think)...
//Call Javascript for Ecwid Store - fix conflict with Next Scripts: Social Networks AutoPoster
    <script type="text/javascript" src="http://app.ecwid.com/script.js?1343032"></script>

That was to fix my store not showing up.  I use headway themes, and placed that code into a custom code block that is mirrored on all pages....  I probably can put that on only the "store" page.... if that will help...

Thanks so much!

Well jQuery is still being loaded twice - two different versions and neither of them the WP 'apprived' version. I believe the theme is loading one and the other is being loaded by something called 'legislator search'.

Sadly the jQuery UI library is also being loaded twice. One is good the other is not and it is being loaded between something called 'slidedeck' and one called 'sliding panels'.

if you can find the locations in the source where these are being loaded then we can help correct them of course.

Will fixing the jQuery issues above, fix the conflict between Google Analytics for WordPress/AG Custom Admin and SimplePress?

Is it possible that the code above is what might be loading one instance that you attribute to my theme?

Anyhow...I've disabled the "legislator search" widget.  It's not really needed.  Hopefully that will fix part of it.

UI library (don't really know what that is...) might be corrected with me deactivating "sliding panels".  That one is a free widget that might be causing problems.  I'll go see if they have a supported version that corrects the issue.  I'm going to assume that "Slidedeck" is the "good" one, since it is a premium plugin.

So...I've disabled 2 plugins:

  • legislator search
  • the the sliding panels

Are we any better?

FYI - As a matter of testing...

I reactivated Google Analytics for WordPress/AG Custom Admin and it's no different.

I've deactivated both we can continue from above post.

Well at the moment it is looking good.
Google Analytics is used by a lot of people and shouldnlt be a probem. The other one I don't know but if, as it suggests, it is aimed at the admin then it shouldn't be loading stuff on the front side of things?

OK, I just reactivated Google Analytics for WordPress and you can see what it did.  The icons are missing and the login button does nothing.  confused
