Sp version : 5.2.2 build 9610 (made clean install no upgrades)
WP version : 3.5.1 updated from 3.5.0 (gravatars didnot work on 3.5.0 either in SP)
Stock WP gravatas adding, atleast what i am aware of.
rearrange avatar priority makes no difference.
This is Avatar data for Gravatar5 test user : a:1:{s:8:"uploaded";s:0:"";}
All members have the same avatar data in sfmembers, only different where user acctually has uploaded a picture then it looks like : a:1:{s:8:"uploaded";s:29:"1358892835avatar-resized.jpeg";}
I am not using remote avatar, so i have disabled this now.
I have attached a picture of my SP plugins.
FYI i have used Simple:Press V5 Importer Framework to import some of the users from phpBB3, but it was only 25% of the users registered now.

Sorry for all the questions but as this has never happened before - (you are the first!) - we are still trying to get an understanding of what could be stopping the http request to gravatar.com - which appears to be the case.
Can you dive back into the database for us please? sfoptions table - row with the option name of 'sfavatars' - what is the data in the option_value column please?

odd... that priority order does not match what you posted in the first post... that shows
uploaded
gravatars
default
WP
pool
remote
have you changed them since the 1st post (besides moving the remote)??? still, should show gravatars before the defaults...
next logical step is to get access to debug the code and see what's happening locally on this... as Andy said, no one else is having such an issue... is it possible to get ftp access to your site? would only need access to the simple-press plugins folder (and its subdirs)... if that works, please PM the details to yellow swordfish and myself with a link to this topic so we know what its about... understand too if that is not doable...

Yes i changed the priority, as you asked me to in previus post. So Uploaded is priority 1 now.
Sure i will create FTP access for you later today and sent you login information.

okay, right now, the gravatar cache plugin is getting in the way...earlier I asked you to deactivate it... have you done that? please make sure its deactivated...
are those real/valid email addresses for those test users?

I was 100% sure plugin was deactivated, but somehow it wasn't.
I have now deactivated the plugin.
Gravatars, did not work before i installed Gravatar cache either.
Yes the e-mail adresses are real adresses, and the user/e-mails have been activated and are workig on other sites.

and those email addresses are actually registered at gravatar.com?
asking because gravatar.com is replying back that its not a valid gravatar email address... this, now after the gravatar cache was disabled...
