I've had a lot of weird problems since the last SP update I did (users getting "unauthorized to view this forum" unless I remove them from the Member list and add them back, etc.). The latest is that Guests cannot view any posts in the forums newer than November 15. An example thread would be http://www.heromachine.com/for.....r/page-13/

He's made lots of posts since November 15 but Guests can't see them. If you log in as a registered member, the newer posts are there.

I checked the permissions for "Read Only" (which is what the Guest group is assigned to) and it does show the ability to view posts. I changed Guest permissions for the "the-heromachine-art-gallery" forum to the same as for Members but it was still not showing the new posts.

I don't really know what to try next, thank you for any help you can provide.

Before anything you will need to disable the cache plugin from doing it's stuff on the forum page. You will need to set the forum slug as an exclusion on ALL the tabs and options of the cache plugin. When you have fixed that up please come back and we can taker a closer look....

It looks like that was the problem. I couldn't figure out how to exclude just the forums from the W3 Cache plugin so I just disabled the entire plugin completely. The posts immediately showed up after the 15th. I'll look into a a different caching solution, thanks for pointing me in the right direction :-)

As mentioned, you can use w3tc,just need to tell it to ignore forum page for all caching types in use. Many folks continue using w3tc with simple press, just can't cache the forum page.

You may not have better luck with others since they will incorrectly assume a wp page is static content.

Thank you, Mr. Papa. I'll try reactivating it and seeing if I can figure out where to put exclusions.
