nobody is arguing... just going through a normal sequence of steps...  easy does it...

not sure why you cant upgrade the plugins - normally can...

you have 25 updates waiting and not sure how many are wp plugins and/or themes..  so at this point, you will have a couple options to get back...

one, rename all the sp plugins (their directories) to allow the upgrade of db to continue...  just add an x or 1 or something to the end of each plugin...  hopefully, have never had to try this, they will become deactivated and you can complete the sp core upgrade... then change the plugin dir names back to normal... and upgrade the plugins...

two, update the forum sfoptions table for entries sfbuild and sfversion to make it think its running version 5.4.0 and build 10914 so upgrade is not needed... then update the plugins, put the db items back to what they were and run the forum upgrade...

so  you need phpmyadmin access or ftp access to your server...  we can help, but would need those credentials...

I think ftp access should be enough to get this going...

I disabled all of the plugins as you said (added a 11 to each plugin folder). I got a new error
Upgrade Aborted
current build: 10449
{"status":"success","type":"upgrade","section":10508,"response":"Build upgrade section 10508 executing. Status: success
","error":""}

Ok I figured out how to do the databases and I changed it.. but as soon as I saved it, I got this:

Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 268435456 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 8192 bytes) in /problem-with-post-edit-buttonome/cringech/public_html/wp-includes/functions.php on line 3917

my entire site crashed. I disabled Simple Press by renaming its main folder.
