I see that neither of the new Eva's have actually posted to your forum. Could they be spam registrants? It might explain the duplicate registration a couple of days apart...
We are going to try and resolve this for you for the future but in the meantime are you aware that as the forum administrator you can edit a users display name and change it. Agreed they can change it back again but I would have expected most people to be sympathetic.
If you want to do this just bring up a users SP profile popup and there will be an edit link at the top beside their user name.

Thanks! I did not realize I could change the name so that's good to know.
As for the new evas, I am aware they have not posted. The real eva has serious health problems and people are worried about her. She's been away for a month. So if someone named "eva" posts, there will be a huge response and perhaps a misunderstanding.
Is there a way to access a person's profile pop up before they post? Not that I think this is a good idea. I not sure how to handle it. Thanks so much for looking for a solution.

change a persons profile popup?? not sure what you mean... do you mean change their profile display name? you can use the method Andy said as you will get a notification from wp on new users... and if a user's display name is changed by them or you, it changes it for all posts they have already made...

Is there a way to access the pop-up profile to be able to change the username, before a person posts?
Is this the only way to access the "edit a profile" option?

If you have not changed the defaults then anywhere you see their display name. Like in the new members list at the bottom of the stats for example.
But failing that - run the members list and find them in there...

I am having this problem again. I think, Brandon said that you'd done something to address it?
In whatever case, I went in and edited the name to read ~Shannon~. I guess if the person posts. I will ask them about changing their name.

Just to save me a little time - are you using registration or any sign up third party plugins. Dupe display names just shouldn't happen. The problem before (eva and Eva) was the upper/lower case 'e' ehih made each on unique and that we fixed I am sure in 5.3.2 or 5.3.3. But in this case they seem identical and that just shouldnlt happen unless something else is getting in the way of the checks.
